MANHAY

remembers

The town of Manhay, with its roads and paths, still bears witness to this period of war. Visitors will be sure to realize this when they visit our town. Indeed...

Brief historical reminder....

Its character as a road junction made Manhay an important strategic issue which led to it being the scene of violent fighting at Christmas 1944 and practically none of the buildings remaining standing after the American artillery entered into action.

But the village of Manhay was not the only one affected. A large part of the area paid tribute to the war, especially the southern half: Grandmenil in particular, Dochamps, Lamormenil, Malempré, and more sparsely Odeigne and Vaux-Chavanne.

MHM44

The MHM44 museum tells the stories of the Battle of the Bulge in the Manhay, Lierneux, and Erezée area. Inside, you'll find fantastic exhibits, unique pieces, and detailed explanations about the battles that took place in December 1944 and January 1945. You can also watch a documentary with unique footage of this region.
